For People Who Love To Garden

Ivy Leaved Geranium
  Pelargonium peltatum
Back to Index

I generally have a prejudice against garden variety pelargoniums. They seem a little coarse. But the ivy leaved variety, while not big in the foliage department, has beautiful, delicate flowers that are really very winning. They are also indestructible, a trait worth noting.

Ivy geranium grow long trailing stems with a fairly constant flow of flowers from midsummer on. The leaves are glossy green and somewhat sparse. They are drought resistant and heat tolerant. In short, a great plant.
