Daffodils nodding in the breezy April sunshine are always a cheerful sight. Daffodils or narcissus come in yellow and white with lots of variation in size and shape from big yellow jonquils to delicate white narcissus. Because they naturalize readily, they make great care-free borders along protected walls and the like. Even with a few, eventually you'll have a crowd. They make nice cut flowers for Spring.

Plants are not attractive to rodents, so there should be no problem with munching critters. Plants will come up in March and bloom in April to May. They can also be grown in pots, although that is a specialized topic. |
| Etymology: narcissus = from mythical Greek youth who became so entranced with his reflection, he was turned into a flower by the gods. |
