  1. Try using leftover holiday greens and tree boughs as extra mulch.
  2. Get online and order some seed catalogs.
  3. Read all the gardening books you got (yourself) for Christmas.
  4. Feed and, where appropriate, bathe your houseplants.
  5. Think about ordering seed starting supplies, such as lights, mats, growing medium, and other advanced paraphernalia.
  6. Go for a walk and look at winter gardens.
  7. Go through that bag of seeds you¹ve gathered, and put them into envelopes with labels (name and year).
  8. Start a garden diary.
  9. Notice that the days really are getting longer.
  10. Plan that perennial border, herb garden, or other garden plot, while having a rejuvenating cup of herb tea.
