| Spring is coming! |
Be glad it's snowing. The snow is a great mulch for perennials.
- Order your seeds for early spring starting.
- Start getting your seed starting kits together. You're going to need lights, heating pads, seed starter medium, fertilizer tea, cloches...
- Make your sweetie a valentine.
- Plan your herb garden, mixed border, vegetable plot...
- Go get all those seed pods you've been saving and put them in labeled envelopes.
- Take out all your seeds and read the seed packets again. You might have missed something the first five or six times you read them.
- See how your houseplants are doing. Check on the dormant shrubs in the basement.
- Visit a greenhouse or arboretum.
- Drink a nice cup of homegrown herbal tea. Mint, chamomile, rose hips, hyssop, and lemon verbena are all nice.
